Location

Bangshal is an old neighborhood of Dhaka that links to some of the oldest parts of the city. The area occupies 1.2 square kilometers, with a population of over 1,78,000. The area has several noted religious institutions such as Jami Mosque, Tara Mosque, Al Madina Jami Mosque, Babu Bazar Jami Mosque, Madhusudan Temple and Shiva Temple, to name a few. The area also has some cultural and recreational centers such as Manasi Cinema Hall, Panchayat Club and Commissioner Community Center.

A heritage building need not be a monument or landmark building; it can be representative of an epoch or period in the history of the city in many ways. Through this project, we have captured various perspectives in the form of virtual tours, timelines, stories, photographs, architectural features and locations.
